Eamon Javers began his career with CNBC in June 2010 as a Washington reporter stationed in the nation's capital. On CNBC's business day programming, he appears. Javers formerly worked for Politico as a White House reporter, covering the confluence of Wall Street and Washington. He investigated the administration's bank bailouts and economic stimulus measures, broke news on Barack Obama's presidency, and wrote Washington trend stories. Prior to joining Politico, Javers worked as a Washington reporter for BusinessWeek magazine, where he covered Washington lobbying extensively, including the Jack Abramoff affair and previously unreported corporate espionage cases. He has worked for CNBC as an on-air journalist, covering the confluence between business and politics. Fortune, Money, Congressional Quarterly, and Slate.com have all published Javers' work. He began his career covering Congress for The Hill, a weekly newspaper (and website). Javers' book Broker, Trader, Lawyer, Spy: The Secret World of Corporate Espionage reveals a previously unknown CIA program enabling active-duty agents to moonlight in the private sector. He has appeared as a commentator on all of the major broadcast networks, as well as all of the major cable news networks, PBS's News Hour with Jim Lehrer, the BBC, and National Public Radio. He also appears on PBS's Washington Week with Gwen Ifill on a regular basis. Javers was honored by the Medill School of Journalism with a Distinction Award in Investigative Journalism in 2006. He earned his bachelor's degree from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York.
