Dyan Cannon is an American actress, director, screenwriter, editor, and producer who has worked in both film and television. She was born Samille Diane Friesen on January 4, 1937. Cannon made her big movie debut in 1960 with The Rise and Fall of Legs Diamond, but she had her small screen debut in the late 1950s with a cameo on Bat Masterson in the episode Lady Luck in 1959. In 1959, she had a cameo as Nicole McCready in episode 54 of Steve McQueen's film Wanted: Dead or Alive. Another role was as Mona Elliott in the 1964 CBS drama The Reporter, in the episode The Man Behind the Man, alongside fellow guest star Franchot Tone, in which Harry Guardino played the main character. She also had appearances in the 1960 episode Sheriff of the Town of 77 Sunset Strip, Gunsmoke, The Untouchables, and the syndicated Two Faces West.
