Dwayne Hickman, best known as the lead of the iconic television series "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis," became the Baby Boomer Generation's idol and ambassador. Hickman, a show industry veteran of more than sixty years, began his career as an extra in the film classic "The Grapes of Wrath" when he was six years old, and grew up working with many of Hollywood's "Golden Era" luminaries. He departed the network to produce and appear in "Bring Me the Head of Dobie Gillis," a CBS Movie of the Week, and to direct half-hour comedy. He continues to appear in films and television shows such as "Night at the Roxbury" and "Clueless." Hickman had no intention of becoming an actress. His initial interest was art and architecture, and he returned to it about two decades ago and resumed official studies. Hickman, a multi-talented artist, is now a nationally known and highly regarded artist. His limited edition prints and original oil paintings may be seen in galleries around the country, as well as incorporate and private collections. Hickman, like so many other Baby Boomers, is pursuing a second, highly lucrative profession and realizing a long-held ambition of being an artist.
