Dustin Lee Hoffman is an actor and director from the United States who has worked in cinema, television, and theatre since 1960. He's noted for playing antiheroes and weak characters in a variety of roles. In 1979 and 1988, he received the Academy Award for Best Actor.
He originally gained attention for his role in the play Eh?, for which he received a Theatre World Award and a Drama Desk Award. The Graduate, in which he played the titular character Benjamin Braddock, was his breakout performance in 1967. Hoffman's career has mostly centered on film since then, with infrequent forays into television and the theatre.
