Professor William G. Kaelin Jr. works at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated from Duke University School of Medicine in 1982 and worked as an internal medicine house officer at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He went on to become a medical oncology clinical fellow at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and a postdoctoral fellow in Dr.
David Livingston's laboratory, where he began his tumor suppressor protein research. In 1992, as a James S. McDonnell scholar, he became an independent investigator at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and in 1998, he became a Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator. Dr.
