Dr. Vincent Aleven is an Associate Professor at Carnegie Mellon University's Human-Computer Interaction Institute. He has 20 years of expertise in cognitive theory-based research and the development of advanced learning systems. Dr. Aleven is a firm belief that when the greatest techniques and practitioners in game design and instructional design come together, excellent educational games will emerge.
In his research on virtual worlds and game-based learning, he is committed to bringing this vision to life. He is the main investigator on a DARPA ENGAGE-funded project to design and analyze educational games for scientific learning for children in pre-K through grade 3. Dr.
