He began his career teaching mathematics before moving on to medicine. For the past two decades, he has worked in the clinical field of psychiatry, most recently as Clinical Director of Mental Health Services at Bassetlaw Trust and then at Rampton Secure Hospital. Steve has been a Senior Clinical Lecturer and Undergraduate Dean at Sheffield University since 1994.
