The Global Centre for the Responsibility to Protect's Executive Director is Dr. Simon Adams. Dr. Adams has considerable experience working with governments and civil society groups in South Africa, East Timor, Rwanda, Mozambique, and other countries. Between 1994 and 2002, Dr. Adams supported the Northern Ireland peace process by working with Sinn FĂ©in and former IRA detainees.
He was also a member of the African National Congress and a former anti-apartheid campaigner. Dr. Adams has published four books and several scholarly articles on international warfare.
