Dr. Marc Faber was born in the Swiss city of Zurich. He attended schools in Geneva and Zurich and graduated with the Matura. He studied Economics at the University of Zurich and graduated with a Ph.D. in Economics magna cum laude at the age of 24. Dr. Faber worked at White Weld & Company Limited in New York, Zurich, and Hong Kong between 1970 and 1978. He has resided in Hong Kong since 1973. He was the Managing Director of Drexel Burnham Lambert (HK) Ltd from 1978 until February 1990. He founded MARC FABER LIMITED, which serves as an investment advisor and fund manager, in June 1990. Dr. Faber is the author of several books, including Tomorrow's Gold – Asia's Age of Discovery, which was first published in 2002 and highlights future investment opportunities around the world. He also publishes a monthly investment newsletter called "The Gloom Boom & Doom Report," which highlights unusual investment opportunities. Tomorrow's Gold has been translated into Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai, and German and has been on Amazon's top-selling list for several weeks. Dr. Faber also contributes to a number of prominent financial journals throughout the world on a monthly basis. Nury Vittachi wrote a book on Dr. Faber called Riding the Millennial Storm, which was released in 1998. Dr. Faber is well-known for his "contrarian" investment technique and is a frequent lecturer at numerous financial conferences. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of a number of firms and is affiliated with a number of funds.
