In 2003, at Mount Everest Base Camp, Dr. Luanne Freer established the world's highest medical clinic. The tent-based clinic, which is located at 17,500 feet (5,330 meters), provides medical assistance to climbers, Sherpas, and trekkers suffering from high altitude illness, frostbite, snow blindness, and injuries. Dr.

A worldwide community rises up on the side of a mountain for 8 weeks twice a year, every year for decades. It's Everest Base Camp, and it now has its own doctor for the first time in history.
