Dr. Douglas Lee Miller is a gospel singer who has received Grammy nominations. He was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, on New Year's Eve, 1949. Sister Naomi Miller, his mother, was a member of Bishop Joseph McGauley's local First Born Church of the Living God. Douglas began accompanying the church's different singing groups on piano, despite having no professional keyboard training.
He also sang in the church's youth choir and led it. Churches all around the area began requesting that this wunderkind performs at their services. Miller and his godparents, Deacon Lawrence and Donna Hill, moved to Akron, Ohio, where he attended the Tower of Prayer Church of God in Christ (COGIC).
