Doug Wojcik Biography

Doug Wojcik is an American college basketball coach who is now the head coach of the College of Charleston's men's basketball team. He formerly served as the head coach of the men's basketball team at the University of Tulsa. He grew up in Wheeling, West Virginia, and played high school basketball under Skip Prosser, who later went on to coach at Loyola (MD), Xavier, and Wake Forest. Wojcik graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1987 and went on to serve in the Navy until 1992. Wojcik was a three-year starter at point guard for the Midshipmen at Navy, where he played alongside Hall of Famer David Robinson and set multiple team milestones for assists. Wojcik returned to Annapolis as an assistant coach after completing his military duty. Wojcik proceeded to coach at Notre Dame, North Carolina, and Michigan State until he was hired by Tulsa as their first head coach. He was recognized as Head Coach in the Waiting by Athlon Sports in 2001 and by ESPN's Jay Bilas in 2003, and he was rated one of the best assistants in the country. Andy Katz of ESPN.com also named Wojcik as an Assistant Coach on the Rise.
