Donnie Tyndall Biography

Donnie Tyndall is the current head men's basketball coach at the University of Tennessee. Prior to becoming head coach at Tennessee Tyndall was the head coach at the University of Southern Mississippi. Tyndall was also the head coach at Morehead State University from 2006-2012. He was hired in 2006 taking over Kyle Macy's former position.
Tyndall was hired by his Alma Mater Morehead State in the spring of 2006. He took over a program that went 4-23 the previous season under Kyle Macy. Tyndall completely reshaped the program as he only retained three players from the previous year.
Tyndall would once again flip his roster returning only four players from the previous year's roster but brought in a talented freshman class that would include two All-American's in Kenneth Faried and Demonte Harper. Tyndall would be voted as the OVC Coach of the Year.
On April 21 Tyndall agreed to coach the Tennessee Volunteers replacing Cuonzo Martin who departed for Cal. He was formally introduced at press conference the following day.
