Don Zimmerman is a film editor from the United States. Coming Home was his first job as lead editor, and he was nominated for an Academy Award for it at the 51st Academy Awards. Zimmerman wanted to be a veterinarian when he was younger. After serving in Vietnam, he went on to work as a music editor.
After meeting director Hal Ashby, who was also an editor at the time, he got into film editing. Donna Zimmerman is Zimmerman's wife. The couple has five children, all of whom are involved in the movie industry. Dean, Danny, and David, their three sons, are all film editors. Debi is a costumer designer. Dana is a post-production specialist.
