Don Newman is a life member of the Canadian Parliamentary Press as well as Canada's History Society (where he served as a director for many years and is now on the Advisory Council), a director of the Canadian Committee for World Press Freedom Day and the Canadian Club of Toronto, and the founder of the Science Media Centre of Canada.
His illustrious journalism career extends over four decades. He hosted live specials and his own national weekly and daily political affairs shows as Senior Parliamentary Editor of CBC Television News. He previously worked as a foreign reporter for CTV and CBC, reporting from Washington, New York, and the United Nations.
