Don Ed Hardy is a tattoo artist, painter, and printer. Hardy, who has been fascinated with tattoos since childhood, has honed his skill while continuing to work in more traditional mediums such as painting and sketching. Hardy, a tattoo historian, and mythology expert has produced tattoo exhibitions as well as authored and published tattoo catalogs.
In March 1995, Don Hardy partnered with Master Printer Bud Shark to create the Tattoo Royale lithograph portfolio. The spiritual iconography of Nurse Mercy to the autobiographic Frontier Justice is represented in these seven pictures based on traditional tattoo patterns as well as unique imagery. The portfolio includes graphic pictures of a panther, a demon, and a shark.
