For a number of years I worked as a successful professional photographer. One day in May 1995 my life changed dramatically. While lifting photo equipment from my vehicle I seemingly pulled a muscle in my upper back and arm. As the week progressed I lost mobility in both arms and legs.
During the next 18 months there were times when I couldn't walk or even lift my arms to comb my hair. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. The prognosis: Learn to live with the pain and get ready for a wheelchair. Something rose up inside me. I could not accept these circumstances.
