Dia Frampton attended public school for her junior year in 2005, while also attending Dixie High School in St. George, Utah and Shadow Ridge High School in Las Vegas, Nevada; and as a result of homeschooling she graduated her senior year early before moving with her sister to Salt Lake City to further their music career.

Selected to be on Team Blake; coach Blake Shelton stated in admiration, “when I heard your voice, I started to smile.” After her renditions of ‘Heartless’ and ‘Losing My Religion,’ Frampton moved on to the show's quarter-finals and semi-finals stages.

Then she went on to sing ‘Inventing Shadows,’ an original song written by Fraser T Smith at the season finale. These previous singles became the highest charting iTunes digital songs by a contestant on ‘The Voice’ during its voting eligibility period, with ‘Inventing Shadows’ topping the charts at No. 1.

At the season finale on June 29, 2011, ‘Inventing Shadows’ debuted at No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 with 137,000 sold downloads. Frampton's The Voice digital releases sold 48,000 downloads By July 7, 2011.
