Demetri Sevastopulo is the Financial Times Washington Bureau Chief. In this role he leads our coverage of US policy and politics including the 2016 presidential campaign.Demetri has spent a total of eight years in Washington most recently as US political correspondent. During a previous stint in the capital he covered the Pentagon and CIA for six years.
He joined the Washington bureau as a business correspondent in 2002.He returned to Washington in 2015 after five years in Hong Kong where he served as Asia News Editor running our news operations in the region and acting as global news editor during the Asian day.
