At the Eastern Music Festival and Tanglewood Institute, Delfeayo Marsalis received classical training. Mr. Marsalis got the Outstanding Performance Award from the Jefferson Performing Arts Society for his rendition of Marcello's Sonata in 1983, when he performed Gordon Jacob's Trombone Concerto with the New Orleans Philharmonic. Mr.
Marsalis attended the famed Berklee College of Music, focusing on both performing and audio production, after releasing his first CD at the age of 17. Since then, he has produced over 75 major-label records, including works by Harry Connick, Jr., Marcus Roberts, Spike Lee, Ellis, Branford, and Wynton Marsalis, several of which have won Grammy awards and nominations.
