Dee Barnes (aka Sista D) is a rapper and former television personality who rose to prominence as the presenter of Fox's hip hop show Pump It Up! after performing in the West Coast hip hop female duet Body & Soul and hosting a radio show on KDAY.
Dance to the Drummer's Beat, Body & Soul's debut single released in 1989 on the Los Angeles-based record label, largely sampled the Herman Kelly and Life song of the same name. Def Jef produced the song's b-side, Hi-Powered.
