Deborah Borda is president and CEO of the Los Angeles Philharmonic managing the largest symphonic organization in the US. Most recently she has instigated a variety of new digital platforms such as LA Phil LIVE featuring full concert performances broadcast live from the Walt Disney Concert Hall to audiences in over 450 movie theaters across the US and Canada.
She spearheaded the appointment of Gustavo Dudamel as music director in 2009. That same year she created the position of conductor laureate for Esa-Pekka Salonen established a new music fund named in his honor to support the commissioning and performance of new works and appointed Herbie Hancock as creative chair for jazz.
