Mindich is a professor of media studies, journalism & digital arts at Saint Michael's College; he has taught there since 1996 and has served nine of those years as chair. The author of two books and numerous articles, including ones in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, Mindich was named Vermont Professor of the Year in 2006. For the 2015-2016 academic year, he was on sabbatical, living in New York City and working as a visiting scholar at New York University.
Before coming to St. Michael's, Mindich worked as an assignment editor for CNN and earned a doctorate in American Studies from New York University.
