David Sanger

David Sanger is an American journalist and the chief Washington correspondent for The New York Times, where he has worked since 1982. Specializing in foreign policy, national security, and globalization, he has covered topics including nuclear proliferation, cyberwarfare, and U.S. presidential administrations from the Clinton to the Biden administration.

Sanger is a Harvard graduate who teaches at Harvard’s Kennedy School and is a CNN contributor. Sanger has contributed to three Pulitzer Prize-winning teams, including in 2017 for international reporting on Russia’s 2016 election interference.
