He is the executive director of the Robin Hood Foundation, which he has held since its founding in 1989. Robin Hood seeks for and finances the most successful initiatives that assist New York's two million underprivileged people to break free from poverty's grip. Saltzman organized the Robin Hood Relief Fund to help 9/11 victims who were impoverished and low-income.
In addition, Robin Hood organized the New York Concert. Saltzman worked as a special assistant to the president of the New York City Board of Education before joining Robin Hood. He also worked for the New York City Department of Health, where he oversaw AIDS education initiatives.
