After winning a couple of amateur titles David turned professional in 1995 and had success at the Samoa Open in 1999 and 2000.
David had a good year on the Tour of Australasia in 2010 winning the WA PGA Championship and runner up at the VIC PGA Championship to Alistair Presnell who shot a final round of 60.Since then he has played well with a consistent number of strong finishes.
