David S. Alkek, MD is a board-certified dermatologist in Dallas, Texas, who specializes in cosmetic dermatology. He is a clinical professor at Southwestern Medical School and the author of more than 15 scholarly papers and book chapters. His first book, The Self-Creating Universe, was a finalist in the North Texas Book Festival for its synthesis of science, philosophy, and faith.
Fatal Philosophy, a murder mystery set in Dallas, in which a serial murderer employs warped philosophy to justify his killings, was his second work. Requiem for Athens, his most recent work, is a historical fiction set in ancient Greece. For his next book, he's working on a collection of poetry and short tales.
