Dave Hakstol is the current head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League. He was born on July 30, 1968. Hakstol, a native of Warburg, Alberta, Canada, spent 11 seasons as the head coach of the University of North Dakota men's ice hockey team.
Hakstol, a former player, played with the Fighting Sioux from 1989 to 1992 and then for five years in the International Hockey League before becoming a coach. On May 18, 2015, it was announced that Hakstol will be named the 19th head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers.
