During his time there, he became a regular at the world-famous Comedy Store, where he earned the moniker "D'Militant" for his biting social and political criticism. Darryl's razor-sharp wit earned him the respect and love of the industry's finest comics, including D. L.
Hughley, who hired Darryl as his exclusive writer while hosting BET's "Comic View." Darryl's brilliance was quickly noticed, and he was employed as the show's writer/producer, writing stuff for Cedric the Entertainer, Sommore, and Don DC Curry.
