Daniel Sperling is a professor of engineering and environmental science and policy at the University of California, Davis, as well as the founding director of the Institute of Transportation Studies. He is a member of the California Air Resources Board's transportation committee.
Sperling earned a Heinz Award in 2010 for his contributions to the development of alternative transportation fuels and his leadership in the implementation of cleaner transportation policy in California and across the United States. He has written over 200 scholarly publications and twelve books, including Two Billion Cars.
