He grew up in Branford Connecticut but later moved to New York City to join the cast as Scott Chandler on the ABC soap opera All My Children in 1996 which made him become popular.
After two years with the soap he left the show in the fall of 1998 to explore other opportunities.That same year Cosgrove moved to Los Angeles to join the cast as Matt Durning on the popular FOX soap Beverly Hills 90210 which he remained until the show's cancellation in 2000.In June 2002 he moved back to New York to join the cast as Bill Lewis III on the CBS soap Guiding Light and opted not to renew his contract from Guiding Light in October 2005.Cosgrove moved back to California to begin a new role in the midseason series In Justice which will air next year on ABC.For the past three years Daniel Cosgrove has been known to daytime fans as Bill Lewis in the long running Guiding Light.Prior to that he played attorney Matt Durning on Fox's Beverly Hills 90210.
