Dan Goldman Biography

Dan is the chair of the business legal practice group at Mayo Clinic. Dan's practice encompasses commercial transactions, virtual medicine and e-health, privacy, copyright and trademark protection, and print and digital publication. Dan also serves as the legal counsel for Mayo Clinic's industry-leading social media initiatives, including the newly established Mayo Clinic Center for Social Media. Dan is a regular lecturer on legal problems relating to social media, and he recently spoke on two panels about social media issues at South by Southwest Interactive (SXSWi) in Austin, Texas. Dan earned a BA in English from UCLA in 1985 and a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1988. Dan worked at the Jenner & Block and Pattishall, McAuliffe law firms in Chicago before joining Mayo Clinic in 2001. Dan and his family enjoy traveling and have visited over 40 countries in their leisure time. His two adolescent children are fond of bragging about having puked on six continents.
