Dr. Carson joined Trinity from the faculty of Northwest Baptist Theological Seminary in Vancouver, British Columbia, where he was academic dean for two years. In Toronto, he also taught at Northwest Baptist Theological College, Richmond College, and Central Baptist Seminary. He has worked as an assistant pastor, pastor, and itinerant minister in Canada and the United Kingdom.
He is also the president of The Gospel Coalition. Dr. Carson travels the world as a guest lecturer in academic and ecclesiastical contexts. His wife, Joy, and he live in Libertyville, Illinois. They have two kids. Dr. Carson likes reading, hiking, and woodworking in his leisure time.
