Crystal Lynn Bowersox is an American singer-songwriter who is best as the runner up from the ninth season of American Idol.Though she lost to singer Lee DeWyze Bowersox still made history on American Idol as the first contestant to have an original song played on the show.Following her time in the competition Bowersox returned to the studio releasing her debut album Farmer's Daughter on December 14 2010 with Jive Records and her second album All That for This in 2012 with Shanachie Records.Most recently Bowersox released a self-produced album entitled Alive in 2017.Bowersox has drawn upon various influences — across folk-pop classic rock soul blues and country — and plays with opposing artistic styles and genres to make the kind of music that resonates with her spirit.
She has also publicized that her music is intended to bring a positive message of love and light to the world.
