Cristina Pato is a Galician bagpiper pianist and composer. From Spain she is internationally acclaimed as a gaita master and classical pianist. She enjoys an active professional career devoted to both Galician popular and classical music. Pato was the first female gaita player to release a solo album and has collaborated with world music jazz classical and experimental artists. She is founder and artistic director of Galician Connection an annual world-music forum and a founding member of the Silk Road Ensemble’s Leadership Council.
