Cristina Mittermeier serves as a leading conservation photographer and marine biologist who also works as an environmental advocate. She gained fame through her work as the founder of International League of Conservation Photographers (ILCP) while creating the term conservation photography to demonstrate how visual narratives drive environmental activism.
She co-founded SeaLegacy with National Geographic photographer Paul Nicklen in 2014 to establish a nonprofit organization that uses powerful images to protect ocean ecosystems. She leads Only One as president while serving as president of this global action platform dedicated to ocean preservation.
