Cristiano Amon is a Brazilian business executive who has served as the president and CEO of Qualcomm Incorporated, a leading multinational semiconductor and telecommunications equipment company, since June 2018. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Amon earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Paraná in 1992.
Amon joined Qualcomm in 1995 as a design engineer in San Diego, California, after briefly working at NEC and Vésper, a Brazilian telecom startup. Over nearly three decades, he rose through Qualcomm’s ranks, holding key roles up to becoming president. Starting in 2015, as president of Qualcomm’s mobile chip division, he oversaw the development of the Snapdragon processor, pivotal to smartphones, IoT devices, and automotive systems. He became CEO in 2018.
