Craig Kilborn is arguably the most famous face to ever come out of ESPN. From the sports network, his comedy has taken him to Comedy Central and the major networks and even into Hollywood movies.
Growing up, Craig Kilborn appearances on the basketball court became a regular occurrence when people began to comment on his height. But ultimately, his big break came in reporting on sports events rather than playing in them. He joined ESPN in the early 1990s and hosted the network’s flagship program “SportsCenter” from 1993 to 1996. He was the show’s lead anchor during the late evening broadcast, and because of his stint in the anchor chair, he became the inspiration for the character of Casey McCall in Aaron Sorkin’s television series “Sports Night.”
