Christopher Boddy is the Director of the Biochemistry Program and a Full Professor at the University of Ottawa in Ottawa Ontario Canada. Boddy is the Principal Investigator of the Boddy Lab which uses synthetic chemistry biochemistry and molecular biology to determine how microorganisms build complex biologically active molecules.
The findings are used for biomedical applications including drug discovery and molecular pharmacology.Boddy’s other fields of interest include organic and biological chemistry natural products polyketides nonulosinic acids biosynthetic pathways synthetic chemistry biomimetic total synthesis biochemistry enzymology molecular microbiology and metabolic engineering.In 2018 Boddy spoke at numerous science conferences including the Industrial Synthetic Biology Congress the French American Chemical Society meeting the CSC 101th Canadian Chemistry Conference the Manitoba Chemistry Symposium and PepTalk 2017.Boddy received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta and received his Ph.D.
