Christophe Bassons was a professional cyclist between 1996 and 2001 racing with the likes of Lance Armstrong Tyler Hamilton and Richard Virenque. He now works for the French Ministry of Sport and Culture to prevent doping. Peter Cossins has been writing and reporting on cycling for over 20 years.
He is a former editor of Procycling and the author of The Monuments. Bassons cycling career ended when he spoke out about doping in the Tour de France.He began cycle-racing in 1991 in mountain biking. He started racing on the road in 1992 and won the Tour du Tarn et Garonne in 1995.
