Shut In and Bumblebee are among the scripts written by Christina Hodson. Three of her screenplays have been on the Black Ranking, an annual list of Hollywood's most well-liked unproduced screenplays. After her debut screenplay, Shut In, made the 2012 Black List of finest unproduced scripts, Hodson switched from development executive to screenwriter in 2012. Seed, a script by Hodson, was included on the 2013 Black List in December. The Eden Project, a female-centered sci-fi action script written by Hodson and produced by Tobey Maguire and Material Pictures, was bought by Sony Pictures Entertainment in September 2014. That script was eventually added to the Black List in 2014. David Linde's Lava Bear Films purchased Hodson's psychological thriller screenplay Shut In. Farren Blackburn directed the film, which starred Naomi Watts and was released on November 11, 2016. Hodson was engaged by Warner Bros. in May 2015 to write a new script for The Fugitive, a 1993 film based on the same name. Hodson joined Michael Bay's team at Paramount Pictures to extend the Transformers world the same year, and she penned the story for Bumblebee. With David Leslie Johnson, Hodson co-wrote the script for the Warner Bros. picture Unforgettable, which was purchased. By November 2016, she was working on a script for Warner Bros.' Harley Quinn/Birds of Prey film, based on the DC Comics series of the same name. In April 2018, she was also recruited by Warner Bros. to write a Barbara Gordon/Batgirl picture. The DC Extended Universe includes both of these flicks.
