About Chris Pontius

Chris Pontius Biography

Chris grew up on his family's ranch in San Luis Obispo, California, where he learned to skate. In issue 2 of Big Brother, he first appears, board sliding a handrail. When Chris was still under the legal age of 18, Issue 8 contained an interview with him as well as his first public nudity appearance. Chris authored an essay titled 18 Ways to Be an Asshole in Issue 9. Chris was employed by Big Brother until 1999 when he was sacked for failing to show up for a tour without informing anyone. Chris bounced around from job to job after leaving Big Brother, including spells at Jamba Juice and working as a temp for Charles Schwab. Chris resigned from the latter position without informing anyone, demonstrating his can-do attitude. After a few months, he returned to the magazine with a story titled "Life After Big Brother," in which he detailed his follies in the workplace. In the year 2000, Chris joined the Jackass group alongside Big Brother editor Jeff Tremaine and contributor Johnny Knoxville. Following the cancellation of Jackass, Chris featured in MTV's Wildboyz and then MTV2 alongside fellow Jackass veteran Steve-O. His signature look consists of either a male pouch thong and a bow tie, or a headband and belt (being otherwise nude), which he credits to a childhood game in which he and his brother dressed up as naked indigenous and scared houseguests while wearing nothing but a belt. In Wildboyz, Chris has exploited the nude native concept to run alongside animals. He's also known for his uncontrollable giggling or crazy laugh. He lived out of a pickup truck, according to an all-Jackass edition of MTV's celebrity residences show, MTV Cribs. Pontius, on the other hand, is ultimately shown living indoors and showcasing his house alongside his fiancée in a later episode of Cribs. Pontius has also prepared a collection of his magazine pieces, short tales, artwork, and police reports (which is yet unpublished).
