Chris Howard is the president of Hampden-Sydney College near Richmond Va. and one of the youngest college presidents in the US. He previously served as a vice president at the University of Oklahoma and with GE’s Corporate Initiatives Group. He serves on the board of trustees at the Fessenden School a K-9 prep school for boys.
A lieutenant colonel in the Air Force Reserves Howard earned a Bronze Star for service in Afghanistan. He is a Rhodes scholar Aspen Institute Henry Crown fellow and a member of the Council of Foreign Relations. President Obama appointed Howard to the National Security Education Board and he was confirmed by the Senate in May 2011.
