Since she was a youngster growing up in Gastonia, North Carolina, Chinnitta Morris, aka "Chocolate," has dreamed of being a performer. She would only perform for her five sisters in their impoverished household as a shy youngster to make light of difficult events. Chocolate has always shown to be a strong competitor.
She was a Winston-Salem State University graduate who also served in the Marine Corps Reserve. She was the third of six daughters reared in a single-parent family, and she was the darkest of them all, thus she suffered a lot of criticism and had low self-esteem. Chocolate, on the other hand, learned to create lemonade out of her lemons.
