Cherie Blair was born in Bury in 1954 but relocated to Liverpool when she was quite young. She attended the London School of Economics to study law, becoming the first member of her family to do so. She was called to the Bar in 1976 and became a Queen's Counsel in 1995.
She is one of the founding members of Matrix Chambers. She is both a part-time judge and a qualified mediator, as Recorders are known. Tony Blair was a fellow trainee in her first chambers.
