Charlie Alejandro Biography

At age two, Charlie Alejandro was abandoned by her birth mother and raised in a dysfunctional poverty stricken family. Alejandro got married as a teenager in order to escape her abusive home and became a mother to three boys before she turning twenty. She strived to further her education by earning her GED, obtaining her medical assistant certification and becoming a Mass. Metropolitan Police officer. In the mid-eighties, she became the first female on a Special Operations Unit in the State of Mass. Ms. Alejandro spent 6 years on the Tac team, became a Drill instructor and speaker on the department's speaker's bureau. After her department merged with the Mass. State Police, she became an alternate on the STOP team, and was hand picked to work on the intervention team when the city of Chelsea went into state receivership and was taken over by the State Police. Ms. Alejandro went on to become a homicide detective, undercover officer, attached to work with DEA, ATF, ICE as well as various other agencies. Alejandro was forced to retire early from the state police after she re-married and became mom to a blended family of 8 kids, she was diagnosed with several chronic illnesses during this period. She went on to become a community organizer, actress, technical adviser, writer and talk show host. In 2008, she was informed that they were looking for people with police experience for the movie Edge of Darkness with Mel Gibson. She got selected to play a recurring police extra and a precision driver. Other background roles followed as she was cast in her first small speaking role as the bank manager in Conned which won several awards at various film festivals. It was also around this time that she realized that her love for acting was still alive and with the encouragement from her husband, she pursued her acting career full time. Movie roles came calling including the role of a game show contestant in the award winning indie movie Scooter McGruder. Charlie started the internet radio talk show Diamond in the Rough' on Blog talk radio in 2009. It was successful and got her a loyal following. Alejandro is a partner and co-owner of Beantown Statie Production Company, a small independent film production company Based in Lowell MA, and she has been working in connection with Angelwood Pictures since 2013. Alejandro has written numerous scripts, and acted in a list of roles. Alejandro and Seth Chitwood co-wrote Code 13: Unreadable a New Media SAG project. She won many awards for her continued involvement in her community, acting and writing.
