Mann served on the Bush Administration's Council of Economic Advisers as an economist, advising on the European Monetary Union, Latin American economies, and the former Soviet Union's transition economies. She worked at the Federal Reserve as an economist, mostly in the International Finance division.
Mann has been a lecturer at Brandeis University since 2006, and since 2010, she has been the Barbara '54 and Richard M. Rosenberg Professor of International Economics and Finance. In 2014, she moved to the OECD. She served as the OECD's Chief Economist and Head of the Economics Department from 2014 to 2017.
