
Carol Reiley currently works at a stealth startup which she co-founded. She took a leave from her doctoral research in Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University. She is an NSF Graduate Research Fellow researching strategies for improving human and robotic interaction. Her previous works include underwater and industrial robotics at Santa Clara University, space satellites at Lockheed Martin, people detection at GE Research, and clinical development engineering as a consultant at Intuitive Surgical. Carol received her M.S. degree in Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University in 2007 and her B.S. degree at Santa Clara University at Computer Engineering in 2004. She also spent a semester at Stanford University in 2008.
Carol believes that anyone can learn to code and is an advocate for women in engineering. She built an interactive children’s book + toy about technology through "Squishybots" (Summer 2016). She also successfully funded a crowdsourced growth mindset children’s book called "Making A Splash" on Kickstarter. She wrote, manufactured, and distributed the book. She founded Tinkerbelle Labs, which is focused on designing affordable healthcare, do it yourself robotics, and interactive projects.
