Carmen Ciricillo has been performing as The Construction Comic ® on a national level since 1990. Carmen's Construction Comedy performance is one of her stand-up routine's highlights. He developed an act primarily centered on the building business at the Santa Monica Improv in California from 1990 to 1992. Carmen Ciricillo was invited to stay at the house of Bob Hope's business manager Mark Anthony, a family friend, in 1989. Carmen succumbed to Hollywood fever and relocated to the city in 1990, when he was cast on the television game show Hold Everything with Pat Bullard almost immediately. That's when he started performing at the Santa Monica Improv, and after being pushed by one of the club's founders, Mark Lonow, Carmen Ciricillo developed a one-of-a-kind routine on his family's construction company, which catapulted his career to new heights. Carmen Ciricillo was requested to perform at the Northern Illinois Home Builders Association in 1991 following an appearance at the Laugh Factory near Chicago. That's when knowledge about The Construction Comic® began to spread. Carmen Ciricillo has performed for thousands of construction organizations since that day, including the National Association of Home Builders, National Underground Utility Contractors, Associated Builders and Contractors, Associated General Contractors, The American Subcontractors Association, The Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors, and The Painting and Decorating Contractors Association. Carmen Ciricillo first appeared on The Discovery Channel's Your New House television show in 1999 as the witty tool guy, and by 2000 he had become a regular. Carmen authored and performed almost 60 pieces for the show, which aired on a daily basis until 2001. The show is now on the airwaves in syndication. That season, he traveled with NASCAR for The Michael Hooligan Racing Team, doing driver interviews and providing entertainment at hospitality events. Carmen Ciricillo earned excellent reviews after playing alongside Richard Lewis for the Gilda Radner charity, Gilda's Club, at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in 2003. A pilot for a sitcom based on Carmen Ciricillo's Construction Comedy performance was written by Bill Grundfest, a writer and producer on the NBC comedy Mad About You. Carmen traveled to Los Angeles in July 2005 to film the pilot. Carmen has also performed as a supporting act for Michael Bolton and Englebert Humperdinck. Carmen Ciricillo's performance appeals to a wide range of audiences since it can be related to anybody, although his primary audiences are people in the construction business. Carmen, of course, has content on a variety of different themes, including family, being Italian, relationships, and much more. From Catch a Rising Star in Vegas to the Punchline in Atlanta and San Francisco, he has performed for hundreds of comedy clubs. Carmen also contributes to numerous periodicals with hilarious short pieces about the construction industry and has sold jokes to Jay Leno and the Tonight Show. Every year, Carmen Ciricillo makes 150 performances at comedy clubs, colleges, businesses, trade events, and associations.
