Carl Franklin is an actor screenwriter and director. He is most known for the film Devil in a Blue Dress which starred Denzel Washington and Don Cheadle.Franklin first began acting in off-Broadway performances in New York City before beginning his on-screen career with Five on the Black Hand Side.
He portraied Captain Crane on the 1980s series The A-Team.Franklin supports the portrayal of African-American history in films and has been quoted as saying “I am interested in the universal values of the black experience.” However just because Franklin is a filmmaker who is African American does not mean that all of his films are racially motivated.
